Unforgettable Door County Trip

DOG-FRIENDLY!! This was our very first trip to Door County and staying at the Country House Resort in Sister Bay honestly made the trip unforgettable. We came the first week of September and lucked out with gorgeous weather, mid-70s and some days in the low 60s. Perfect for exploring and relaxing.

From the moment we arrived, everything about this resort felt special like a little gem. It’s right in Sister Bay, so you’re close to everything, but tucked away off the main road which makes it super quiet, private, and peaceful. I also love that it’s an adults-only resort. It really gave us the relaxing getaway we were looking for. Even for our pooch! Loved the dog basket and free treats!

We stayed in a suite for four adults with a loft, and it was so spacious and beautifully updated. Every detail was thought through from the electric shades on all the windows and skylights to the rainfall shower with jets. Our room even had a private jacuzzi tub for two and a fireplace. Stepping out onto the patio deck with four chairs overlooking the lake and gardens was the highlight of our mornings and evenings.

The resort itself has everything you could want. There’s a hot tub spa, pool, tennis courts, volleyball, shuffleboard, ladder golf, kayaking, and a private hiking trail that takes you right into town. We loved that there were so many little touches, like lawn games and spots to just sit and enjoy the view. It felt like every part of the property was designed to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

From start to finish, our stay was out of this world. If you’re looking for a serene spot with modern amenities, beautiful grounds, and a central location in Door County, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!
